Abstract:

To provide a pointing device for a computer capable of accomplishing a pointing operation without needing a manual operation.

This pointing device 1 is constructed by integrally including a mounting means 2 capable of being mounted on a body, a push switch 3 which is supported by the means 2 and also detects an operation of a 1st part in the body and a controller 12 which is connected to the switch 3, to which the information of the 1st part operation is inputted and which is also connected to a serial port of a computer and performs a click operation of the computer by detecting the 1st part operation. The means 2 is supported by an angular velocity sensor 4 measuring the displacement of a 2nd part of the body in one or two directions in an optional surface and performs a pointing operation for the computer with the displacement of the 2nd part detected as angular velocity obtained by the sensor 4.
