Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body movement detecting and managing apparatus utilizable for a user with enthusiasm.
SOLUTION: The number of steps is detected by a pedometer 1 to store the number of steps per minute and the cumulative number of steps, and data on the stored numbers of steps of an individual is transmitted to an external terminal 2. The external terminal 2 stores and manages the data on the numbers of steps from the pedometer 1 with data on the characteristics of the individual, displays the record of the number of steps of each individual trend by trend in such a way as to switch between an object period and a unit time, and extracts and displays his rank in the record of the number of steps among a number of persons of which the data on the number of steps is inputted to the external terminal 2. Individual characteristics data and data on the number of steps are previously inputted to a server 3 for the management of the numbers of steps from the external terminal 2 over a network 5. Through the use of a general management program for the numbers of steps of the server 3 for the management of the numbers of steps, the external terminal 2 extracts and displays his rank within a group according to the characteristics of his sex, age, place of residence, etc., among the inputted plurality of persons.
