PURPOSE: To provide spread boiled rice for rolled sushi by automatically leveling boiled rice by a mechanical force in the longitudinal direction.

CONSTITUTION: Upper and lower conveyers 3, 4 are installed between parallel upstanding plates 2, 2, and a boiled rice-scraping wheel 5 and a boiled rice- dropping chute 6 are erected above and below the end of the upper conveyor 3, respectively. A spreading roll 8 for the dropped boiled rice 7 is installed just above the lower conveyor 4, and an optical sensor 9 for detecting the dropped boiled rice on the chute 6 is installed so as to stop the upper conveyor 3 and the boiled rice-scraping wheel 5 in response to the detection signal from the sensor.
