Abstract:

To provide a boiling water reactor adopting a fuel replacement system allowing replacing a fuel during operation.

This reactor is constituted as follows: many horizontally-positioned calandria tubes 2-1 are arrayed in a calandria tank 2 filled with a moderator 1; the end faces of the calandria tubes are bonded in the fluid-tight state to the side part tube sheet of the calandria tank; fuel assemblies 4 are loaded inside the calandria tubes; pressure tubes 3 constituted so as to circulate a coolant 5 therein are allowed to penetrate inside the calandria tubes; a control rod 6 is arranged on an upper part in the direction approximately orthogonal to the horizontally-positioned fuel assemblies; and a circulation pump 8 for circulating the coolant 5 in the pressure tube 3 and a gas-liquid separator 9 are provided.
