PURPOSE: To prevent threads of a bolt from crushing when it is cut by providing indentations, having female threads corresponding with the threads of the bolt to be cut, on the front of a pair of cutting members.
CONSTITUTION: A bolt clipper bears 6 a pair of cutting members 4 capable of opening and shutting on its front part so that they can be turned by means of a supporter 5. The inside surfaces on the fronts of the members 4 come in sliding contact with each other, indentations 8 having semicircular cross-sectional spaces are formed at corresponding portions of the members 4 and female threads 8a are provided on the inner surfaces of the indentations. On the indentations 8 are provided springs 9 so as to protect the bolt from slipping off. By cutting the threads 10a of the bolt 10 according to the female threads 8a on the indentations, crushes of threads and occurence of burs can be prevented and a quick and easy operation is carried out.
