Abstract:
PURPOSE: To employ a bolt tensioner for the stud of the vertical flange of a pressure container, a pump or the like to facilitate the work of attaching a puller bar to the stud and positioning the bolt tensioner after attaching the puller bar, while reducing the labor required for the work of driving screws into the stud and preventing damage to the thread of the stud.
CONSTITUTION: A stud 22 is positioned with only a puller bar 2 retained, then the puller bar 2 is screwed into the stud 22, an assemblage of a housing 7 and a hydraulic piston 8 is installed in the outer periphery of the puller bar 2, and then a two-piece nut 5 is fitted into a parallel groove 4 in the puller bar 2 and held in place with a pin and a sleeve. Then pressure oil is introduced into an oil hole 11, a tensile fore is thereby applied to the puller bar 2 via the hydraulic piston 8 and the two-piece nut 5 to apply tension to the stud 22, and the nut 23 is tightened or loosened from a nut tightening/loosening hole 31 provided in the housing 7.
