Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a polymer having good bond-ability to various substrates made of organic or inorganic materials by grafting a specified graftable com pound onto polyvinylidene fluoride.

CONSTITUTION: This polymer is one prepared by grafting a graftable compound having a bonding group enabling grafting and a functional group imparting adhesiveness onto polyvinylidene fluoride. In the graftable compound, it is preferable that the bonding group is an organic group terminated with an α, β-unsaturated double bond, a peroxy group or an amino group and that the functional group imparting adhesiveness is a carboxyl group, a carboxylic anhydride group, an epoxy group or a hydrolyzable silyl group. This polymer is obtained by melt-blending polyvinylidene fluoride with the graftable compound and a radical generator.
