PURPOSE: To bond a fluororubber to a base firmly and easily, by adding a vulcanizer and at least one member selected from among an alkylene glycol, glycerol and an alkyl Cellosolve to the fluororubber in bonding them together.
CONSTITUTION: A composition for vulcanizing a fluororubber is prepared by adding a vulcanizer (e.g., organic peroxide) and at least one member selected from among an alkylene glycol (e.g., ethylene glycol), glycerol and an alkyl Cellosolve (e.g., methyl Cellosolve) to a fluororubber (e.g., vinylidene fluoride/ hexafluoropropylene copolymer). This vulcanizable composition is placed on a substrate coated with an adhesive containing a silane coupling agent and the both are bonded together by vulcanization by application of pressure and heat. In this way, the bonding can be easily performed satisfactorily without detriment to the properties of the fluororubber.
