Title:
BONDING PROCESS OF SYNTHETIC FIBERS TO RUBBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS54148885
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the improved wet adhesiveness of synthetic fibers to rubber even when stained with oils, by treating unscoured synthetic fibers with a liquid comprising resorcinol-formaldehyde condensate and a rubber latex.

CONSTITUTION: Unscoured synthetic fibers are treated with a liquid comprising a resorcinol-formaldehyde condensate and a rubber latex (PEL), and then with a rubber cement, and heat-treated at 150W250°C for 0.5W5 min. Polyamide fibers are preferably heat-treated at 185W190°C. Preferably, the add-on of the RFL on the fibers thus treated is 3W10 wt.% based on the fiber weight, and that of the rubber cement is about 5W20 wt.%.
