Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a bone prosthetic material capable of decreasing absorption rate of an absorbable polymer, which can be made into desired forms, by dispersing calcium carbonate particles in the polymer. CONSTITUTION: The absorbable bone prosthetic material contains calcium carbonate particles in a polymer matrix. The particles can be obtained from coral skeleton for example, and adjusted to less than 1mm size, constitute 40-70% in weight of a mixture with a bio absorbable polymer.
