Title:
BONE PROTEASE EQUIPPED WITH SURFACE REGION OF DIRECT CAST MACRO-TEXTURE AND MANUFACTURE THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3895788
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To attempt enhanced fixing mechanism of implant protease into hard tissue in a living body by forming an engagement surface toward outside of bone protease, at least in which part, firming a macro-textured porous surface having an undercut bordered profile integrally with the protease.
CONSTITUTION: For example, acetabulum shell 20 includes an outer bone engagement surface 22, and a macro-textured porous surface 24 is held by the entire outer bone engagement surface. The bone engagement surface 22 is equipped with a plural number of holes 26 for receiving bone screws. The macro-textured porous surface 24 has holes 28, some of which form undercut borders 30. The macro-textured surface 24 is formed from holes 28 having a diameter of about 150-600 micrometers or a characteristic size. Further, the porosity of a hole 28 is preferably about 30-60% and an undercut of a hole 28 is preferably about 0.5-1.5 mm in depth.
