To provide a book cooling device, which surely solidifies adhesive before the trimming of the three sides of a book after the coating of the hot-melt type adhesive to the back portion of the content of the book.

This book cooling device is equipped with a cooling plate, to the side contacting with the book of which a material with higher thermal diffusivity is applied and to the side not contacting with the book of which a material with lower thermal diffisivity is applied and within which a cooling medium is held, a cooling means for cooling the cooling plate by cooling the cooling medium and a blowing means for sending air (the cooling medium) through holes bored on the cooling plate to the side contacting with the book so as to provide the cooling plate in a perfect binding bookbinding line in order to cool the back side of the book, which is fabricated by wrapping the content coated with the hot-melt type adhesive with a cover and to use the cooling plate as the guide of the back side of the book in the conveying course of the book wrapped with the cover.
