PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a book cover that does not come off from a book fitted with the book cover and allows fabrication with a good yield of a material, and a method of fitting the book cover.SOLUTION: Belt-like pieces 3, 4, each having a length twice or more of the maximum vertical width of a book 120 fitted with a book cover, are adhered on the right and left sides of a cover sheet main body 2 at adhesive portions 5, 6 in accordance with the vertical width of the book 120, and a cylindrical front cover side bag portion 7 and a cylindrical back cover side bag portion 8 are integrally provided. The book cover folded in accordance with the lateral width of the book 120 is fitted on the front side of the book 120 by inserting a front cover 121 into the front cover side bag portion 7 on the right side of the book cover and inserting a back cover 122 into the back cover side bag portion 8 on the left side of the book cover. The front cover side bag portion 7 and the back cover side portion 8 do not get out of shape because they are formed in a cylindrical shape at the adhesive portions 5, 6, and the cover sheet main body 2 does not need to surround the front cover 121 and the back cover 122 in a bag shape, allowing the vertical width to be less than twice of the maximum vertical width and enabling a good yield of a material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
