Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a book document handling device which can securely and easily set a book document on a device, insert it into a device main body so that the book document does not deviate and is neither caught nor broken, and turn and the spread pages of the book document.
CONSTITUTION: A scanning unit 200 which has a page turning means and a reading means is moved reciprocally over the document surface of the book document BO which is spread and mounted on an original platen 1 to turn and read the pages of the book document. An original platen unit 35 is equipped with two right and left divided original platens 1, an original platen elevating means which moves up and down the original platens independently, a top cover fixing means which fixes the top and back covers of the book document on the original platens, and an original platen moving means (slide rail 300) which supports the original platen unit 35 movably in the front-rear direction on the device main body.
