To provide a device which enables a user to read a book easily while lying down without holding the book with hands and to read the book while sitting on a chair or sitting straight.
A base 1 has a weight 3 in the bottom of a bookstand 2, and a book holder 15 moves easily. Casters 4 are attached, and a metal pipe 7 is put up in a hole located in the center of a board. The metal pipe 7 is joined to a metallic bellows pipe 8. A metal plate and a metal mesh are screwed with clamps 16 to secure them to the bellows pipe 8. The directions of the book holder can be shifted freely because of the bellows pipe. A binder for holding a book is installed on the metal mesh and a slide. The metal plate and the metal mesh are put together, a frame is put between them, and four corners are screwed. A spring for holding a book is placed in the center of a book-holding device. Adjustment holes 18 to adjust the height of the book holder are bored on the metal pipe, and clamps are provided.
