To provide an improved book jacket on the second surface of which printing is provided in the direction of reverse reading (lateral inversion or a mirror image) so that the jacket may appear in the direction enabling reading thereof from the first surface (or external surface) thereof and which is constituted of a transparent or substantially transparent plastic or cellophane material, and also a manufacturing method of this improved book jacket.
The improved book jacket which is constituted of a transparent or translucent jacket sheet having the first and second surfaces opposite to each other and which is excellent in durability and used for making a book in high-quality binding, and the manufacturing method thereof, are disclosed. Since printing is provided on the second surface of the jacket sheet in the direction of reverse reading, this printing can be seen on the first (or external) surface of the jacket. This improved book jacket dispenses with a paper book jacket requiring an expensive laminated or protective coating and adds durability and strength to the usual book jacket, while gives an excellent glossy appearance to a usual book jacket structure.
