Abstract:
PURPOSE: To accurately and surely detect the page end position of the book original.
CONSTITUTION: As to the book original reader which has a scanning and turning-page means for scanning the book original, housing the page of the book original into a page housing part, and turning the page while ejecting the page, and which reads the book original while turning the page of the book original; a turned page detecting means detecting the turned page which is housed into the page housing part and a turning-page starting direction page end detecting means 103 which detects the page end in the turning-page starting direction of the book original by the turned page detection of the page detecting means are provided.
