To provide a book-rest which can respond to a large area printed matter like a newspaper or the like through a massive volume book like a dictionary or the like.

A support shaft 5 is arranged at the rear face of a book installation face which is the front surface of a base plate 1, and the support shaft 5 is arranged with page holders 4A, 4B. The page holders 4A, 4B have a reel 4a which is inserted by the support shaft 5 and can move along the support shaft 5, a plate winding spring 4b which is energized to rewind to the reel 4a and a page holder (unillustrated) located at the leading front of the plate winding spring 4b which reaches the front surface of the base plate 1 over the base plate 1, and a target page arranged on the front surface of the base plate 1 are held with the supporter. Though the book-rest is usually used with the base plate 1 arranged slant relative to a desk or the like with the support members 2A, 2B, it can be used as a board on which a brochure or the like is posted too with the base plate 1 hung with a strap S with the support members 2A, 2B folded.
