To solve the problem that a book-rest is often used for personal computer input work or learning and supporting a book in a double spread state rather than being used as a tool for reading a book, thus required to support the book of various thickness from a thin book to a thick book such as a dictionary and a reference book rather than a function of adjusting the angle of a book, and further required to have a simple structure with a reduced cost, be easily stored and have a shape convenient for carrying.
This book-rest is so formed that a plurality of oblique grooves are formed in approximately parallel to each other in the upper face of a base having a rectangular parallelepiped shape or a shape similar thereto, a support plate and a transparent presser plate are inserted and raised into arbitrary two grooves, and the book is propped against between the support plate and the presser plate in a double spread state. A recessed part is formed in the upper face of the base to provide a storage space for the presser plate and the support plate. Alternatively, the support plate is composed two plates to have a function as a picture stand and this book-rest is made so as not to be obstruction, even if it is placed on a desk when being stored.
