To provide a book storage management system for enabling a user to borrow a book by freely adopting or rejecting and selecting, regardless of the existence of a lending-out request for the book.
This book storage management system carries containers 6 to a library 3 from a station 13 after lending-out or return work of books 4, by taking out and carrying the containers 6 including the books 4 reserved for lending-out to the station 13 from a plurality of containers 6 stored in the library 3 and storing a plurality of books 4 based on a command of a management device 26. The management device 26 has taking-out indicting means 20 and 29 for indicating a taking-out procedure for taking out the books 4 reserved for lending-out from the containers 6 in the station 13, and additional taking-out indicating means 20 and 29 for indicating an additional taking-out procedure for taking out books 4 unreserved for lending-out from the containers 6.
