Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system in which a booklet binding process is efficiently integrated with other document-producing processes such as printing.SOLUTION: An apparatus for treating a stack of sheets of sheet material comprises: means for moving it toward first and second fold roller means arranged to assist in folding the stack of sheets; first and second clamping jaws 12 defining a gap 14 therebetween and arranged to be movable relative to each other to increase and decrease the gap for selective application of a clamping force for folding the stack of sheets having passed between the first and second fold roller means; and means for allowing an increase and decrease in separation between a stack-guiding configuration and a stack-compressing configuration.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
