To provide a booklet feeding apparatus for booklet printer and a booklet feeding method by which the flat surface property of an opened booklet surface can be increased.

The booklet feeding apparatus is used for feeding booklets to the booklet printer, and includes a booklet feeder and a page turning apparatus. The page turning apparatus includes a page turning unit which opens the booklet by turning pages to a specified page, and a closing peculiarity correcting unit which corrects the closing peculiarity of the opened booklet. The closing peculiarity correcting unit includes: a decking for mounting the opened booklet; a pressing roller which moves the booklet by pinching the fixed end of the booklet in a space with the decking, and positions and fixes the binding line section of the booklet to the distal end of the decking; and a folding-back roller which turns with the distal end position of the decking as the pivot. After positioning the binding line section of the booklet at the distal end of the decking by the pressing roller, the free end of the opened booklet is folded back to the rear surface direction of the decking by turning the folding-back roller. In addition, the binding line section which has been folded back is pressed by pinching the folded-back binding line section by a set of pinching blocks, and the closing peculiarity of the booklet is corrected.
