To provide a booklet-like medium processing device which performs conveyance control in consideration of a state of a booklet-like medium occurring due to an open page when the booklet-like medium such as a passbook with its page opened is conveyed along a conveyance path, and which can be improved in conveyance accuracy of the booklet-like medium in the conveyance path.
A passbook processing unit conveys a passbook with its page opened along the conveyance path formed by arranging a plurality of conveyance roller pairs 31 to 36. A conveyance part applies a drive pulse to a pulse motor as a driving motor. While the conveyance part is causing the drive motor to rotate and drive at constant speed, a magnetic data processing part detects change of reading speed of magnetic data as change of conveyance speed of the passbook conveyed along the conveyance path. A control part controls the rotary drive of the drive motor by the conveyance part according to the detected change of conveyance speed of the passbook.
