PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily form a film on an index part by a method wherein for a booklet having a step part comprising notches having different lengths formed along the opposite side edge to a part where a plurality of papers are bound, to papers corresponding with the upper faces of respective steps of the step part, a foil is bonded by hot stamping.
SOLUTION: For a booklet 1 such as a notebook and an address book, on the front cross section side, a staircase-form step part 4 is formed, and parts which become the upper faces of respective steps of the step part 4 become an index to show characters for each line of fifty-one Japanese alphabets. Also, the step part 4 comprises notches having different lengths which are formed along the side edge for each paper or every plurality of papers (p) on the side edge part of the front cross section side of the papers (p) being bound as the booklet 1. In this case, at the step part 4 of the booklet 1, a covering layer (h) comprising a foil is formed at parts which are exposed in the step part 4 under a state wherein the booklet 1 is closed (excepting the face paper), and the covering layer (h) is a foil which is transferred by hot stamping, and a transparent one, of which the major part comprises a synthetic resin, is used.
