To provide a bookmark having a thin plate shape not damaging a book even when being interposed into the book, capable of keeping beautiful condition for a long period, and hardly slipping and dropping off from the book when interposing into the book.
The bookmark is constituted by applying japanese lacquer to the front face of the dry lacquer like cloth 6 where a texture pattern 3 is left in at least a rear face. Alternatively, the dry lacquer like cloth 6 where the texture pattern 3 is left in at least one face of both front and rear faces is affixed to the rear face of the wooden thin plate 11 with the texture pattern facing outside, thereafter the japanese lacquer is applied to the front face of the thin plate 11. Alternatively, a nonwoven fabric such as japanese paper 13 is affixed to the rear face of the wooden thin plate 11 and the japanese lacquer is applied to both the front and rear faces of the affixed thin plate 11.
