Title:
PRODUCTION OF CURED PHENOL RESIN PARTICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3226237
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To readily obtain the subject particles having a low bulk specific gravity in a short time, having no coloration or a pale coloration, hardly darkening even by allowing to stand for a long period of time by reacting a methylol group-containing liquid phenol resin with an organic ester in a dispersed state.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A methylol-containing liquid phenol is reacted with (B) an organic ester (preferably formic ester or γ-butyrolactone) in a dispersed state generally for 3-180 minutes to give the objective particles. The reaction is preferably carried out by dispersing the component A into a dispersion medium such as hexane under stirring and adding the component B to the dispersion. The component A is generally obtained by reacting a phenol or a novolak type phenolic resin with an aldehyde in the presence of a basic catalyst or an acidic bivalent metal salt catalyst.
