The bookstand with the paging function for reading while lying supine comprises a raising/lowering means for raising/lowering a book with facing pages turned downward, a paging means for turning over the paper of the page on the reading side of the facing pages so that the page can hang from the stitching part, and a facing page forming part for forming new facing pages to be read by supporting the turned over paper as the book is lowered in such a way that the turned over paper can be laid down.
