Abstract:
To provide a boot adaptor capable of ensuring a long life of a boot used for a universal joint.SOLUTION: A cylindrical boot adaptor attached to a housing of a universal joint, has an attaching end portion to which an annular boot formed by an elastic material is attached. The boot covers the periphery of a rotation shaft coupled to the universal joint. The attaching end portion is bend inward so as to have a recessed portion in which an end portion of the boot is fitted, and has an outside annular portion, an inside annular portion concentric with the outside annular portion, and a coupling portion coupling the outside annular portion and the inside annular portion. The inside annular portion has a cylindrical portion extending from the coupling portion, and a truncated conical portion extending from the cylindrical portion to the opposite side to the coupling portion. The truncated conical portion has an outer diameter that decreases as separated from the cylindrical portion. An end portion on the opposite side to the cylindrical portion of the truncated conical portion is bent inward.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
