Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004038374
Kind Code:

To easily change the boot program of electronic equipment.

A boot program is stored with program change instruction data in an EEP ROM 5 being a non-volatile memory in a rewritable configuration. At the time of starting electronic equipment, a boot control means 9 being a start means compares the program change instruction data with a predetermined value. When the program change instruction data are different from the predetermined value, the boot control means 9 judges that the change of the boot program is unnecessary, and makes a CPU 1 being an arithmetic means execute the boot program stored in the EEP ROM 5. On the other hand, when the program change instruction data are equal to the predetermined value, the boot program stored in the EEP ROM 5 is rewritten with the boot program loaded from an external storage device, and the boot control means 9 makes the CPU 1 execute the rewritten boot program.
