A boring machine where a guide shell 5 mounting a rock drill 4 is supported on the edge of a boom 3, which is provided on a truck 2, is provided with a detection part 9 for detecting the state of the rotary mechanism and the feed mechanism of the rock drill 4, a control part 10 for controlling the feed mechanism of the rock drill 4 on the basis of the detection signal of the detection part 9, and a communication means for performing signal transmission between the detection part 9 and the control part 10 by serial communication. The control part 10 previously stores area data classifying the state of the rotation mechanism into a plurality of areas and the data of the adjustment amount of the feed mechanism determined corresponding to each area respectively, and the feed mechanism is adjusted on the basis of the adjustment amount data of the feed mechanism corresponding to the detection data of the state of the rotary mechanism detected at a prescribed sampling frequency.
