PURPOSE: To accurately conduct boring, especially precision boring in regard to a matter to be bored.
CONSTITUTION: In the case of a boring device which is provided with a pressure foot 4 to be made to butt against the surface of a matter to be bored, at a housing 2 that supports a drill unit 1 to which a boring tool 10 is furnished, the support of the drill unit 1 at the housing 2 is conducted by means of a magnetic support means 3 which carries out the magnetic floating of the drill unit 1 in regard to the housing 2 and at the same time is capable of controlling the position of the drill unit 1. The drill unit 1 being affected with impact at the time of the pressure foot 4 made to butt against the matter to be bored is removed by the control of the support position of the drill unit 1 by means of the magnetic support means 3.
