Title:
BORING EPICENTER SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3152791
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a boring epicenter system for propagating vibration correctly from a shaker to the crust.
CONSTITUTION: A cylinder section 1 is fixed to a casing 20 constituting the body part of a boring epicenter system and a pair of actuator bases 2 are arranged on the cylinder section while opposing each other. A piezoelectric actuator 3 is inserted into a recess 2a made in each actuator base 2 and press supported by means of an actuator pad 4 fixed to the actuator base 2. Pressure oil is then introduced into a first oil chamber 5 formed on the inside of each actuator base 2 in order to push the actuator base 2 outward thus pressing the outer face of the actuator pad 4 against the wall of a bore 11 and securing the casing 20. The actuator 3 is operated under that state and shaking power is propagated through the actuator pad 4 to the wall of bore (crust).
