Abstract:

PURPOSE: To efficiently perform a very exact, precise and beautiful cutting work (including a surface finishing) by a method wherein hard grinding grains such as CNB or a diamond grinding grain are attached to an end mill edge and a reamer by means of an electroplating method to form a given dimension.

CONSTITUTION: This boring reamer having an end mill edge is formed with a steel material and consists of a handle part 1, a shaft part 2 adjoining the handle part 1 and an edge part 3 which adjoins the shaft part 2 and expands continuously to the point. This edge part 3 consists of plural lines of reamers 4, end mill straight edges 5 formed at the point and saw teeth type shaped lands 6 formed between the reamer 4 and the shaft part 2. Next thereto, hard grinding grains 12 such as CBN or a diamond grinding grain are attached to the edge 5 and the reamer 4 by means of an electroplating method and the thickened part due to the attachment of the grinding grain is previously reduced by a minus working. With this, a very exact, precise and beautiful cutting work can be efficiently performed.
