Abstract:

To provide a boron adsorbent based on a silicate inorganic polymer which is excellent in boron adsorption, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same.

There is provided a method for manufacturing a boron adsorbent based on a silicate inorganic polymer which is excellent in the boron adsorption, wherein a precursor suspension liquid is prepared by mixing an aqueous solution of a silicon compound with an aqueous solution of an aluminum compound and/or a transition metal and after removal of a salt by-produced in the above process, the above precursor suspension liquid is subjected to hydrothermal reaction, thereby the silicate inorganic polymer excellent in boron adsorption being synthesized. Since inorganic compounds of the boron adsorbent intrinsically are excellent in the resistance to water, heat and corrosion, the boron adsorbent is used as an environment cleaning material for adsorption of harmful materials existent in the air, organic solvents solved in water and hazardous materials of the organic compounds such as a pesticide, for waste water cleaning, for water cleaning treatment and as a catalyst carrier.
