Title:
BORON NITRIDE-CONTAINING CONTAINER HAVING TITANIUM-IRON-SILICON SURFACE COATING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01316258
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable the use of a boron nitride-containing evaporation container along with a molten metal like molten aluminum in various evaporation processes by coating at least a part of the container with a titanium-iron-silicon layer.

CONSTITUTION: At least a part of the surface of a container containing boron nitride along with a refractory material pref. having adaptability in the combined use therewith is coated with a titanium-iron-silicon layer. That is, a titanium powder, an iron powder and a silicon powder are blended to form a dry blend which is, in turn, mixed with a liquid vehicle, a dispersant and a binder to form a slurry wherein solid particles of powders constitute 65-80 wt.% pref. The surface of the container is coated with the slurry to be heated at least for 2 hr pref. at about 100°C to remove the liquid part of the slurry and the binder is cured. This heating is pref. executed within a range of 95-105 V and 1-2.5 hr. Temp. exceeding 105°C has possibility of deteriorating the binder.
