In a both end finishing machine formed so both end parts of a work W clamped by a vise mechanism are machined by a pair of rotary cutting units 6 which are arranged on both opposite sides of the vise mechanism, and which can be respectively advanced and retracted in relation to the both end machining positions of the work W, an advancing and retracting motion driving means 10 for the respective rotary cutting units 6 is made up of a guide part 12 for guiding the movement of the rotary cutting units 6, a ball screw mechanism 13 for reciprocating the rotary cutting units 6 along the guide part 12, and a servomotor 15 for rotating the screw shaft 14 of ball screw mechanism 13.
