To provide a management method for the bottom of a blast furnace for estimating the remaining thickness of refractories more precisely in the method for estimating the remaining thickness of the refractories by using a thermocouple.
The boundary position of the refractories and the interior of the furnace is determined by using the muon of the cosmic ray. The determination of the boundary is performed by a measurement part 12 for measuring the muon of the cosmic ray based on the intensity ratio described as follows such that the muon intensity of the cosmic ray flying through the bottom 2 of the blast furnace; the determination information of flying direction of the muon of the cosmic ray transmitted through the furnace bottom and the intensity of the cosmic ray muon non-transmitted through the blast furnace are accumulated for certain hours, and based on the accumulated data; the condition of the furnace bottom is displayed by the ratio of the furnace bottom transmitted cosmic ray muon intensity and the non-transmitted cosmic ray muon intensity. As the point of reference for determination, from the fluctuation measured by the temperature measurement means 9a and 9b arranged in the refractories of the bottom of the furnace the increase/decrease thickness of attached material is estimated, the variation of short term condition of interior of the furnace can be controlled.
