To use a surveying auxiliary tool such as pole or pin pole in vertically raised state as a measuring point by forming a hole or the like for fixing the leg tip of the surveying auxiliary tool near the tip of an arrow showing a boundary.
A hole (or groove) 6 for fixing the leg part tip of a surveying auxiliary tool is formed near the tip of the arrow 3 of a boundary indicator 1 having the arrow 3 for showing a boundary formed on the surface. Namely, the boundary indicator 1 is formed of a display plate formed into a truncated pyramidal form, and the triangular arrow 3 is engraved in one of its ridge lines 7. The hole 6 is formed near the top part of the arrow 3 substantially vertically by a drill. When this boundary indicator 1 is placed on a road, and the leg part tip of the surveying auxiliary tool (pole) is inserted to the hole 6, the leg part tip of the pole is fixed, so that the pole can be vertically held in a stationary state. When no hole 6 is formed, the pole leg part can not be fixed since it is slipped down in fixing.
