To avoid excess friction when a bowling pin and a bowling ball are pinched and to prevent the bowling ball from being damaged by providing a safety clutch on a power transmitting part of a bowling ball carrying apparatus and cutting the clutch when excess torque is loaded.
A flange 6 is fixed on the apex of a shaft 9 rotated by a motor and a flange 7 on which a belt 10 is hung and the flange 6 are pushed together in the axial direction by elasticity of a spring 8 to constitute a sheet clutch connected by friction. When excess power is required on the belt 10, the flanges 6 and 7 are slid by exceeding friction and connection between the flange 6 and the flange 7 is released by cutting pressure of the spring 8 and driving of the belt 10 is stopped. When a bowling ball and a bowling pin are pinched in a carrying path, an excess torque is loaded on the clutches through a guide roller 15, a lifter belt 12 and a drive roller 16 and the clutches are cut and carrying of a lifter belt 12 is stopped.
