To provide a box for packing fibrous articles wherein the box for packing fibrous articles is simply and inexpensively divided into two by means of a partition plate and there exists no deviation of the partition plate and the fibrous articles can be stored into two storing rooms by a specified amount of packing and in addition, when the box is not used, it is easily folded and a method for packing.

In a box for packing fibrous articles constituted of an outer box 1 and a partition plate 2 being freely removably mounted in the box 1, the partition plate 2 has an approximately U-shaped crosssection with two folded parts in the same direction and when it is mounted, the outsides of two facing faces are brought into contact with the insides of the outer box 1 and the apex parts of the facing two faces are brought into contact with the corner parts of the inner faces of the outer box 1 to form two storing rooms 3 and 4 in the outer box.
