Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carton making machine which can open a body part in a polygonal shape of different shapes without inserting a shape forming device into an inside of the body part.SOLUTION: A carton making machine is provided with a shape forming device 61 which shapes a box 2 having a polygonal shaped body part having a plurality of side plates extending vertically and connected through folds, a plurality of upper flaps arranged on upper edge of the body part, and a plurality of lower flaps arranged on a lower edge of the body part while the body part forms a cylindrical shape. The shape forming device includes a pair of right and left mold members 63, and a pair of right and left body part expansion devices 68 which are arranged so as to be displaced on right and left sides and detachably engage with the body part. The opened boxy is arranged between the right and left mold members and the right and left body part expansion devices, the right and left body part expansion devices engage with outer surface of both of right and left side plates, and the body part is pressed to the right and left mold members by moving outward on the right and left sides to arrange a shape of the body part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 13
