Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To damp vibration of a structure due to earthquake in a well-balanced manner.
SOLUTION: A brace damper device 19 is formed with first and second hydraulic dampers 25, 26 connected in series. The brace damper device 19 includes the first and second hydraulic dampers 25, 26, a fist brace 27 joined to a first angle 20, a second brace 28 joined to a second angle 21, a first frame 29 joined to the end of the first brace 27, and a second frame 30 joined to the end of the second brace 28. The first and second hydraulic dampers 25, 26 are provided to operate in mutually opposite directions. During a compression process with the first hydraulic damper 25, an elongation process is performed with the second hydraulic damper 26. During an elongation process with the first hydraulic damper 25, a compression process is performed with the second hydraulic damper 26. The brace damper device 19 thus generates the same damping force for well-balanced damping independently of the direction of vibration.
