Title:
BRACKET SHAPE FOR IMPROVED TOOTH-ROW
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02268755
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To eliminate sharp edges in contact with the exposed surface by equipping a bracket for dentition with a reduced base for mounting to the teeth. CONSTITUTION: A bracket for dentition 10 is composed of an occlusion tie-wing 50 separated by a gum tie-wing 40 and an arch wire-slot 30, and the arch wire- slot 30 is supported by a thing forming a part of a base 20, an arch wire-slot- support 35. From the rectangular base 20, the gum tie-wing 40 and the occlusion tie-wing 50 extend to form an appropriate support for the arch wire and a ligation. The occlusion tie-wing 50 and the gum tie-wing 40 are generally oval. Usually, tie-wings 40, 50 are also rounded or made hemispherical so that they can fit the cheeks of the mouth or the lip surface. Reduction of every sharp edge of the bracket and the hemispherical shape as a whole further eliminate the stimulation against the internal membrane of the cheeks and lips. Thus, all kinds of unpleasant feeling felt by patients are remarkably reduced.
