This braided rope 1 is provided by arranging a core material 2 continuing along the longitudinal direction of the braided rope in the vicinity of the center of the braided rope, and sealing the powdery material or granular material 3 between the core material and a braided fibrous yarns constituting the braided rope. The method for producing the same is provided by arranging a weaving machine 4 below a powdery or granular material supplying part 5 in advance, arranging the core material continuing in vertical direction while penetrating through the supplying part and knitting machine, weaving the braided fibrous yarns 11 around the core material by the weaving machine, also supplying the powdery material or granular material from the supplying part to a position where the braided fibrous yarns are woven, and lowering the core material in accordance with a speed at which the braided fibrous yarns are woven.
