Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the reading speed, reading correctness, etc., of braille by arranging plural groups of specific finger read pins on a contact read board in combination, and moving up and down the respective contact read pins in order through driving parts and forming the braille.

CONSTITUTION: In the finger read board 1 on which hand fingers are placed, hole groups H each consisting of six holes 2 in two rows and three columns which represent characters, etc., are bored at specific intervals. The contact read pins 3 which are driven upward and downward by the pin driving parts D1-D10 consisting of solenoids are inserted into the respective holes 2. Ten contact read pin group G1-G10 are arranged laterally. The combinations of the specific number of finger read pins 3 are moved up and down in order according to recording data on a recording medium to form the braille for a specific time. The specific finger tips are brought into contact with the combinations of the groups of the finger read pins 3, combination by combination, to read the braille formed by moving up and down the finger read pins 3. Consequently, the pin driving time interval of each braille letter can be shortened and the reading speed is increased.
