NEW MATERIAL: A DNA expression structure contains a DNA sequence which is eluted with 20-26% of n-propanol fraction by aqueous 0.1 M trifluoroacetic acid-n-propanol, has about 8-18 kDal, suppresses the growth of tumor cell or T cell, encodes an active polypeptide component found in a mammalian brain (including its physiologically active fragment) and is bonded to at least one promoter except a wild type promoter and a terminator except a wild type terminator or a replication system except a wild type replication system, in a suitable direction.
USE: Retardation of proliferation of neoplastic cell.
PREPARATION: A polypeptide eluted and isolated from a chromatography column using homogenized brain tissue or its purified fraction with an acidic aqueous acetonitrile eluent is bonded to a replication system except a wild type replication system.
