An amount of operation of a brake pedal 3 is detected with a stepping force sensor 4, the target deceleration according to the stepping force value is calculated with a brake control ECU 1 as an amount indicating the driver's brake intention. The actual deceleration is calculated by differentiating the vehicle speed calculated with an ABS control device based on the signal of a wheel speed sensor 8. The deviation between the target deceleration and the actual deceleration is obtained as the divergence level, and the sound of buzzer is generated from the buzzer 92 so that sound volume becomes large according to the magnitude of the divergence level. When the brake does not work contrary to driver's expectation, even if the driver steps the brake pedal, he does not feel the danger and fear since he can recognize the divergence degree with his brake intention.
