Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: Th provide a brake control device for a motorcycle capable of brake control by operating a front wheel and a rear wheel in conjunction with each other, without remodeling an existing hydraulic system.
SOLUTION: The brake control device includes a first master cylinder 3 for transmitting the brake operation of a front brake operating element 1 to the front wheel 44 via a hydraulic system 9, and a second master cylinder 4 for transmitting the brake operation of a rear brake operating element 2 to the rear wheel 46 via another hydraulic system 15. A hydraulic pressure transmitting means 49 is provided for transmitting the brake operation of the rear brake element 2 to the front brake operating element 1 by means of hydraulic pressure, the hydraulic pressure transmitting means 49 including a driving cylinder 50 for driving one of the brake operating elements through the brake operation of the other brake operating element, an interlock cylinder 51 for actuating the one brake operating element as the driving cylinder 50 is actuated, and a hydraulic pressure line 52 provided between the driving cylinder 50 and the interlock cylinder 51 to supply hydraulic pressure to the interlock cylinder 51.
