To improve efficiency in returning brake fluid relieved to a reservoir back to a brake circuit when assist control and anti-skid control are simultaneously carried out.
The brake controller is provided with a gate valve 3 and a relief valve 3b in a position midway of brake circuits 1 and 2 and closer to master cylinder side than to a delivery position of a pump 4, and it is composed so that it can provide a wheel cylinder pressure higher than a master cylinder pressure by opening the gate valve 3 during assist operation, sucking in the brake fluid from a suction circuit 4b by the pump 4, and delivering the brake fluid to a wheel cylinder side. When the assist control and the anti-skid control are carried out at the same time, a scrape-out valve control of temporarily opening the gate valve 3 is carried out.
