PURPOSE: To secure sufficiently large adjustment width in brake force adjustment by enlarging the mechanical displacement of a piezoelectric element to transmit it to a brake force adjusting member.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid chamber 76 is partitioned by a piston 75 slidably fitted into a cylinder 71. A piston 78 is slidably fitted into a communicating passage 77 opened to the liquid chamber 76, and the piston 78 and a piston 73 are integrated by a connecting shaft 79. When a piezoelectric element 36 disposed on the back face of the piston 75 is elongated, the piston 75 is moved to the left. The pressure receiving areas of three pistons 73, 75, 78 are formed in such a way that the piston 73 is the largest and the piston 78 is the smallest, and the leftward movement of the piston 75 is transmitted being enlarged as the leftward movement of the piston 78, 73. The volume of a liquid chamber 72 connected to a brake pipeline 25 can be thus changed largely by the displacement of the piston 73 with the large pressure receiving area.
